The following are simply our terms and conditions for skydiving. If you have any questions about what will happen on the day of your jump, please visit our FAQ page. Alternatively, please call our office on 0800 009 3015 and a member of our team will be happy to help.
- SDC is affiliated to the British Skydiving (BPA). A condition of affiliation is that the members comply with the requirements of the BPA Operations Manual and SDC’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- The BPA Operations Manual and PTO SOPs are held by the Chief Instructor and may be referred to by any SDC PTO member and at any time on request.
- The BPA (British Skydiving) regulations state that the minimum age to participate in Skydiving is 16; the person intending to carry out the parachute descent must be at least this age on the day of the jump.
- Any persons between the age of 16 and 18 will have to have the BPA Membership Agreement Form (parental consent form) signed and the Tandem Medical Declaration of Fitness Form witnessed by a parent or guardian, and will have to bring these forms along on the day of the jump. Failure to produce these documents on the day will prevent your jump from taking place.
- It is important that any person undertaking a skydive is fit to do so. Skydive Centre Ltd is required to have a Declaration of Fitness for every person who jumps with us, in line with the requirements of the British Skydiving. If you are lucky enough to be fit and healthy, and have not suffered from any of the medical conditions listed on the BPA Student Tandem Parachute Declaration Form (115A), you can declare yourself as fit to jump using BPA Form 115A. However, if you suffer from a medical condition or take any prescription medication specified in Form 115A, it is a legal requirement that your GP certifies you as fit to skydive by signing and stamping BPA Form 115B – Tandem Student Parachutist Doctor’s Medical Certificate.
- The maximum weight limit is 15 stone (95 kg) for men and 14 stone (88.9kg) for women. Also note that your weight needs to be in proportion to height and, if you are close to the limit, conditions need to be suitable on the day of the jump, which may lead to delays. You WILL be weighed on the day and if you exceed this weight, you will be unable to jump. The suitability of a student for skydiving will be assessed by the CI (Chief Instructor) or his deputy, whose responsibility it is to make the final decision to allow or refuse to go ahead with the jump.
- You must arrive at the centre at your allocated arrival time to complete the training and administration. Failure to do so may result in the loss of deposit and being unable to carry out your jump.
- Skydive Centre Ltd reserve the right to change the jumping order without prior notice.
- Skydive Centre Ltd reserve the right to ask anyone behaving unsuitably to leave the premises.
- Full attention must be given to the training provided. The Instructors reserve the right to stop the programme if the student is not demonstrating the ability to follow instructions.
